Common Questions
FAQ
The questions we hear most. If yours isn't here, just ask.
It depends on what you need. Flat repairs and brake adjustments are usually same-day or next-day. Basic tune-ups are 1–2 days. Standard tune-ups and more involved repairs are typically 2–4 business days. Full overhauls can take 4–7 days depending on parts availability. We'll give you a specific estimate when you drop the bike off, and we'll call if anything changes.
No appointment needed for most repairs. Just bring it in during shop hours and we'll take a look. For bike fittings, you do need an appointment since those are booked by session with Keiko. If you're coming in for a larger service and want to make sure we can see it the same day, it's worth calling ahead.
We charge cost on parts. No markup. Labor rates are how we make our money, so you're not getting marked up on a chain or a brake pad. If a repair requires parts you'd rather source yourself, we're happy to install them, though we can't warranty parts we didn't supply.
Yes. We work on everything from department store bikes to high-end carbon race bikes. The only bikes we typically don't work on are those with proprietary proprietary systems that require dealer-specific tools we don't carry. If you're unsure, call and describe your bike and we'll tell you honestly whether we can help.
Yes. We stand behind all our labor for 30 days. If something we worked on fails within 30 days due to our workmanship, we'll fix it free. Parts we supply are covered by the manufacturer's warranty. If we find something we missed, we'll own it and make it right without an argument.
Absolutely. The shop floor is open and we're happy to walk you through what we're doing. We'd rather have customers who understand their bikes. If you want to learn, ask questions.
A valid credit card for the security hold ($300), and that's it. We'll fit you to the bike, go over the controls, and hand you a helmet and lock. Renters must be 18+ or accompanied by a parent or guardian. No cycling experience necessary for city bikes.
Occasionally. We take in used bikes on consignment when we have space on the floor, and we sometimes buy bikes outright if they're a good fit for our inventory. Bring it in and we'll take a look. We can't quote values over the phone or email.
