It Started With a Rescue Named Bear
In 2019, our founder Sarah Chen adopted a nervous rescue mutt named Bear. He needed daily exercise and socialization, but every dog walking service she tried felt impersonal. Walkers would change without notice. Updates were spotty. Bear came home stressed instead of relaxed.
Sarah started walking Bear herself, then her neighbor's dog, then three more dogs on the block. Within six months, she'd built a small community of pet owners who trusted her with their animals. That's when Happy Trails became a real business.
Today, we walk over 50 dogs a week across Denver. We've expanded to pet sitting, overnight stays, and cat care. But the philosophy hasn't changed: every pet gets the same attention and care that Bear got on that first walk.
