Atelier Home Design was founded in 2011 by Claire Duval, a graduate of Parsons School of Design with a deep conviction that interior design should be personal, not performative.
After a decade working at leading firms in New York and Los Angeles, Claire noticed a pattern: clients were being given beautiful rooms that didn't feel like their own. Spaces designed to impress, not to inhabit.
She started Atelier with a different philosophy. Every project begins with deep listening. We learn how you cook, how you entertain, where you read, how light moves through your home. The design follows from there.
Fifteen years later, that approach hasn't changed. We've grown from a solo practice to a team of three, but the work remains intimate, collaborative, and rooted in the belief that your home should tell your story.

Parsons-trained with 15 years of experience across residential and hospitality projects. Claire leads every project with an eye for proportion, materiality, and the subtle details that make a space feel complete.
With a background in architecture and eight years in interior design, James brings spatial intelligence and technical precision to every project. He specializes in kitchen and bath renovations.
Sofia has an exceptional talent for sourcing unique pieces and creating layered, lived-in interiors. She manages vendor relationships and styling for all photo shoots and installations.
