What is managed IT, and how is it different from calling an IT guy when something breaks?
Break-fix IT is reactive. Something breaks, you call, they fix it, you pay. Managed IT is proactive. We monitor your systems constantly, apply patches, and resolve most issues before you ever notice them. You pay a flat monthly rate regardless of how many tickets we close. That alignment of incentives is the key difference.
What does the contract look like? Can I cancel?
We ask for a 12-month initial agreement, which gives us time to properly onboard your environment and demonstrate value. After that, plans are month-to-month with 30 days written notice to cancel. No penalties, no hidden exit fees.
How long does onboarding take?
Most clients are fully onboarded within two to four weeks. We deploy our monitoring agents, document your environment, set up remote access tools, integrate with your ticketing system, and schedule a kickoff call with your team. For larger or more complex environments, we may extend that timeline slightly.
Does managed IT include cybersecurity?
Yes. All plans include antivirus, malware protection, and endpoint monitoring. Business and Enterprise plans add email security, and Enterprise includes advanced Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR) plus security awareness training. We also offer standalone cybersecurity assessments as a project service.
We use Macs. Do you support Apple devices?
Yes. We manage mixed Mac and Windows environments. Our monitoring tools are cross-platform. If your team is Mac-heavy or fully on Apple, we'll confirm our toolset fits your environment during the free assessment.
What happens if we have a serious outage at 2 AM?
Our monitoring stack alerts our on-call team automatically. For Business and Enterprise clients, we have a 24/7 emergency line. Starter clients receive monitoring alerts and next-business-day response for non-critical issues. For critical outages on Starter, we offer after-hours response at an additional rate.
Do you handle cloud services like Microsoft 365?
Yes. We're a Microsoft Partner and handle Microsoft 365 licensing, setup, administration, and user management. We also manage Azure infrastructure and can assist with Google Workspace environments. Cloud services administration is included in Business and Enterprise plans.
We're a medical practice. Can you support HIPAA compliance?
Yes. Our Enterprise plan includes HIPAA compliance support. This covers technical safeguards, risk assessments, audit logging, encrypted backup, and staff training. We've worked with medical practices, therapists, and healthcare groups and understand what the regulation actually requires at the infrastructure level.
Most businesses we talk to don't know what they don't know. The free assessment usually surfaces three to five issues that were quietly costing time or creating risk. It's worth an hour of your day.
