The things pet parents ask us most often. If your question isn't here, just call or email us.
Dogs must be current on rabies, DHPP (distemper/parvo combo), and bordetella (kennel cough). Cats must be current on rabies and FVRCP. We'll ask for vaccine records when you make your first reservation. Records can be emailed to stay@waggingtailslodge.com or faxed from your vet directly.
Bring enough of your pet's regular food for the full stay, clearly labeled with their name and feeding instructions. You're also welcome to bring a favorite blanket or toy — familiar smells can help pets settle in faster. Avoid bringing anything irreplaceable. We provide all bedding, bowls, and enrichment items.
Drop-off and pickup happen during regular business hours: Monday through Friday 7 AM to 7 PM, Saturday 8 AM to 6 PM, and Sunday 9 AM to 5 PM. We don't charge a late checkout fee as long as you're out by closing. If you need an earlier drop-off or later pickup on a specific day, call us in advance and we'll do our best to accommodate.
Yes, at no extra charge. We administer oral medications, supplements, and eye or ear drops. Please bring medications in their original labeled packaging, with a written dosage schedule. We are not able to administer injections (such as insulin) without prior arrangements and staff training specific to your pet's needs. Call us to discuss before booking.
We work with anxious dogs regularly. Marcus, our lead caretaker, specializes in fearful and anxious animals. We recommend booking a trial daycare visit before a longer boarding stay so your dog can get comfortable with us gradually. For dogs with severe anxiety, we also recommend a meet-and-greet tour first. Mention your dog's anxiety in your reservation notes and we'll plan accordingly.
Standard reservations can be cancelled with at least 48 hours notice with no charge. Holiday reservations require 7 days notice. Late cancellations forfeit the deposit. We understand that plans change and travel is unpredictable — just let us know as soon as you can and we'll work with you.
We don't restrict by breed. We assess every dog individually through our temperament evaluation. Play groups are organized by size — small (under 25 lbs), medium (25-60 lbs), and large (60+ lbs) — to keep all dogs safe and comfortable. A dog of any breed is welcome as long as they pass the evaluation and are current on vaccines.
Call us directly or send an email. We're responsive and we don't mind the extra questions.
