Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need a referral from my doctor?

In most states, you can see a physical therapist without a physician referral through direct access. Some insurance plans may require a referral for coverage. We'll verify your benefits before your first visit and let you know if one is needed.

What should I wear to my appointment?

Wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing that allows you to move freely. Athletic wear works great. For lower body issues, shorts are ideal. For shoulder or neck problems, a tank top or t-shirt is best. We have changing rooms available.

How long is a typical session?

Initial evaluations run 60 minutes. Follow-up treatment sessions are 45-60 minutes of one-on-one time with your therapist. Every minute is focused on your treatment. We don't double-book or rotate between patients.

How many sessions will I need?

It depends on your condition and goals. Minor injuries may resolve in 4-6 sessions. Post-surgical rehabilitation typically requires 12-20 sessions over several months. We'll give you an honest estimate after your initial evaluation.

Do you accept my insurance?

We accept most major insurance plans including Blue Cross Blue Shield, Aetna, UnitedHealthcare, Cigna, Medicare, and workers' compensation. Call us with your insurance details and we'll verify your benefits before your first visit at no charge.

What's the difference between PT and massage?

Physical therapy is a medical treatment provided by licensed professionals who diagnose movement disorders and create rehabilitation plans. While manual techniques may feel similar to massage, PT includes exercise prescription, movement re-training, and measurable outcome tracking designed to resolve the underlying problem.
