Same-size boxes stack cleanly and use vertical space much better than a mix of random containers. Medium boxes (18x18x16) are the sweet spot.
Leave a walkway down the center of your unit so you can reach items in the back without unpacking everything in front.
Label boxes on at least two sides with contents and which room they belong to. You'll thank yourself when you need to find something six months later.
Cover couches and mattresses with moving blankets or plastic covers. Even in a clean facility, dust settles over time.
